 Thorir Jonsson Hraundal, born in 1974, received a BA in general Linguistics from the university of Iceland in 1988. He studied Semitic languages and graduated with an M.Litt. in Middle Eastern Studies and he holds a PhD in Medieval Studies. His writings have focused on medieval Arabic geographies and historical texts.
